About Nik

Having seen that "face to face advice” was key to building up trust and long term relationships with clients, Nik started a new and client focused IFA firm with Samantha Green (née Spalding) in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge called Anglia Financial Ltd. from scratch, which has evolved to the re branded AFL Financial Strategies Limited, Senior Partner Practice and now a representative of St. James's Place.

Having been a financial adviser for 27 years, Nik has gained exceptional knowledge and experience within the financial services sector which enables him to provide both private and corporate clients with expert and professional advice on a wide range of Wealth Management areas and still likes to tackle complex and bespoke mortgage cases when he can. With recent changes to pensions, more time is being dedicated to the more technical side of what is increasingly becoming an ever more complex area of financial advice. Nik is recognised by the Personal Finance Society (PFS) as a pensions specialist. Nik’s clients are located all over the UK.

Nik firmly believes in giving the best advice he can to all his clients both from a moral, ethical and professional stance. Putting the client first forms the basis of advice given.

Nik completed studying after passing his examinations for his Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society and Chartered Insurance Institute in August 2015. Nik was awarded the mortgage advice Level 4 Diploma from the IFS School of Finance - one of the 1st cohort to qualify for this then new qualification in the UK, in late 2011. Nik is committed to providing a personal and bespoke service tailored to the specific needs of his clients. His role within AFL Financial Strategies is to provide expert advice in:

  • Pension planning and retirement planning for individuals and Companies
  • Mortgage and finance solutions, both personal and access to commercial
  • Individual Inheritance Tax and Estate planning
  • Investment planning for clients and offshore trusts*

In October 2016, Nik became a member of the Society of Mortgage Professional by examination.

Nik holds the Certificate in Pension transfers via the Chartered insurance Institute as well as having passed specialist pension exams AF3 and AF7 and in June 2021, AF8.

In his spare time, Nik likes to maintain his classic Japanese imported 1967 Prince Motor Company (PMC) Skyline S57 1500 (the only one in the UK), and letting his “RatPack” of Golden Retrievers Louie and Lola, Golden Retriever/Labrador cross Luna and Patterdale Terrier Milo take him for a walk in the Norfolk countryside!

Your home or other property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

All enquiries for commerical mortgages will be reffered to a service that is separate and distinct to those offered by St. James's Place.
